New!! Pepe Romero & Wolfgang Jellinghaus – “España” Spruce | Indian rosewood | deluxe Hardcase 2024
Guitarras Romero is the result of a collaboration between Pepe Romero Jr. and Wolfgang Jellinghaus. Pepe Romero Jr. is the son of the world-famous guitarist Pepe Romero. Having access to the large family collection of great guitars and the high level of musical practice in his family, helped him to create guitars that quickly reached an excellent level and are today highly appreciated all over the world. Wolfgang Jellinghaus was born in Dortmund in 1951 and has been building guitars since the age of fourteen. For several years, the renowned German guitar maker has been living and working in China. There, he builds handmade guitars of amazing quality in a manufactory. Together the two produce classical concert guitars of high quality, which are available at a very attractive price.
The España model is a traditional Spanish design inspired by the renowned guitars of Miguel Rodriguez, Santos Hernandez and Romero’s own custom builds. These guitars have tremendous power, sustain, and clarity. They are available with premium German spruce or Western red cedar tops and have traditional five-fan bracing. Interestingly, the bracing is fine-tuned with two V-shaped braces and a crossbar to favor treble resonance.
The Romero Espagna Spruce is extremely responsive, with great power and a full, clear tone. The trebles respond immediately and precisely, with a wide range of timbres. The basses are also very present, with a lot of dynamics and a very Spanish timbre. With its great acoustic characteristics and easy playability due to a very comfortable neck, this guitar is a really excellent choice in this price range.
