Taurus Classical vintage Concert Guitar Cedar 1970

 1.075

Taurus vintage Spanish classical guitar from the 1970s with a fascinating history (Ramirez), connected to one of the greatest names in guitar making.

Despite its age, this guitar is in great condition with only a few small dents, particularly on the top.

The tone can be described as typically “Spanish”: warm and deep with beautiful (round) singing trebles.

Very easy to play across the entire fretboard!

Description

The guitar maker: Taurus (Arturo Grau)

The Taurus brand was a workshop in Barcelona owned by Arturo Grau. From the 1960s through the 1980s, Taurus was highly regarded for producing high-quality “studio” guitars (for advanced players to professional guitarists).

The connection with Ramírez.

The reason the name Ramírez is associated with Taurus is that the famous workshop of José Ramírez in Madrid (one of the world’s most famous guitar makers) commissioned Taurus to build their “Studio” line. In the 60s and 70s, the demand for Ramírez guitars was so high that the workshop in Madrid could not keep up with their studio’s production.

The production of these models was outsourced to Arturo Grau’s Taurus workshop.

For this reason, many Taurus guitars share the same design philosophy and characteristic features, with the typical “Spanish tone,” as the vintage Ramírez studio models.

This guitar comes in a vintage case.
