From the perspective of guitar maker Raffaele Dantone, this guitar is a historical replica of a Torres model from the second period. His intention was to recreate the characteristic sound of Antonio de Torres’s instruments, which means a warm, enveloping sound rich in harmonics, with that slightly “boxy” quality often associated with the best Torres guitars. Rather than being a shortcoming, this tonal characteristic is actually one of the defining and most charming aspects of this type of instrument.
At the same time, the guitar maintains a good balance between high and low tones, with a clear separation between timbres and a beautiful volume response. The projection and dynamic range are in line with other traditionally built classical guitars, while retaining the distinctive tonal personality that makes Torres-inspired instruments so appealing to many players.
