Alessandro Perciaccante

Alessandro Perciaccante is an Italian luthier based in La Herradura, a small village on the coast in Granada’s province, devoted to creating unique, finely crafted, classical and flamenco guitars.

His journey into lutherie began in 2017 at the European Institute of Guitar Making, under the guidance of Master Luthier Stephen Hill. After building his first guitar, he soon became Stephen’s apprentice. He has been his assistant for over 5 years, working every day side by side with him also on the construction of his master model guitars and as a teacher in his guitar making courses at the EIGM.

His classical guitars are strongly influenced by the Granada’s school of guitar makers – especially by the work of Antonio Marin Montero and his cooperation with the French luthier Robert Bouchet. He aims to preserve the authentic sound of the traditional Spanish guitar and to reconcile it with some of the characteristics of the modern classical guitar.

His flamenco models are inspired by the work of some of the greatest guitar makers of the last century, such as Santos Hernandez and Marcelo Barbero.

He also builds Lattice braced guitars, following the steps of his mentor Stephen Hill, one of the best Lattice guitar makers in Europe.”
